Sandy Forquer Dransfield

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, I attended Chatham College where I majored in sociology with a minor in anthropology. I met my late husband Tim Forquer and six months after graduation we married and moved to Taranto, Italy and then Sweden. Four years later we returned to Pittsburgh where our daughters Beth and Bonnie were born and I began working on my master's degree and then a PhD in Counseling Psychology in 1977. I have worked in academic, governmental and public and private corporate settings, serving as Deputy Commissioner for the New York Office of Mental Health, Executive Director of Colorado Health Networks, and CEO of OptumHealth New Mexico, a United Health company. company. I am a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, I met Geoff Dransfield on a Delta flight in 2011 and we have been married 8 years! We adopted our dog Buddy in 2020 and he has made our life quite active, full of laughter and provides lots of cuddles. Between us we have six children, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren living in Colorado, California, Tennessee and New Mexico. My first and foremost passion is Indivisible SOS Santa Fe -- our group inspires me daily! I also love to hike, oil paint, do strength training, yoga, Pilates and running! I still have the goal of running Bay to Breakers whenever it comes back following the pandemic. My leadership roles include serving as president of our group, serving as a Commissioner on the Health Policy and Planning Commission of Santa Fe County, the Behavioral Health Leadership Team for Santa Fe County and the Health and Welfare Committee of the Christus St. Vincent Hospital Board. Working hard to make a difference for people in our community, state and country are top priorities for me.
