Gloria Gordon

A native New Yorker, I graduated from the University of Rochester and took graduate work in Computer Science at Rutgers University. I worked in Information Technology for most of my career, for IBM, Exxon, Smith Barney, Citibank and Xerox where I was Chief Information Officer of a large division. At age 50 I changed careers to become an Executive Recruiter with A.T. Kearney in Los Angeles. I consulted in 20 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Australia. My assignments ranged from one week to two years in Belgium. I led technology planning and development including strategic systems, database technology and security policies. In New York City I created a “Network” of Executive Women who met for dinner every six weeks for professional camaraderie. When I moved to California, I organized a similar group of businesswomen. I also served in the Los Angeles Organization of Women Executives as President. In Santa Fe I was on the Board of Newcomers’ Club as Secretary, Newsletter Editor, and President. I have a younger sister, a stepdaughter, and a second husband, David King, who I met while working at Citibank in 1984, teaching technology strategy to corporate executives around the world. We share a love for travel, the West and for Santa Fe. We retired here in 2005. We were both skiers, but I am not physically able now with two knee replacements, a shoulder replacement, and a spinal fusion. But in my time, I won a few NASTAR ski racing medals. I’m a pretty good photographer and used to play a lot of tennis. I love Indivisible SOS and the wonderful, smart women in the group.
