I am originally from San Francisco and lived in Mill Valley for 28 years. My husband and I moved to Santa Fe a few years ago. We were ready to get away from traffic and increasing forest fires and wanted more culture, nature, art, access to outdoor life, history, and being with people who chose to be here. I am so happy we chose this amazing place to live at this stage of our lives. I recently retired from a long career as a business owner in the area of health, nutrition, and beauty that included skin care, hair styling and nutritional consulting. I still have a select number of clients. I became a mentor in 2004 for people who have suffered from disordered eating issues. I love having time to enjoy my interests in art, reading, hiking, snow shoeing, and meeting new friends, hosting visitors (pre-covid), having a vegetable garden, and cooking! I have two adult children, a son and his family living in Santa Clara, CA. and a daughter and her family who live in Austin, TX. We also have the most joyful relationship with our 3 adult grandchildren. We always have a dog! Currently we have a 10 year old mini-poodle named Curry. Pure love for sure! I was happy to become a part of S.O.S indivisible when my neighbor Elizabeth Porter, who has become a dear friend, introduced me to this group. My introduction to the importance of being politically involved was in 1968 when I protested for several days on Alcatraz Island sitting with my husband and our son with the Native American Tribal Counsel. I was able to participate since I was married at the time to a Native American Choctaw man. Social justice issues got awakened in me from that experience on!
